Sonnet 1 RP

Sonnet 1 RP <– Want to hear it?

If all who call the name of love do win

And each who breech the same do somehow fall

Then when we speak and words from lips begin

Will we so quick to love take care to call

If love and loins were clear in great divide

And shame for fear of loss were not the norm

Then truth would reign and save the need to hide

Love will yet still in time retake it’s form

These days do pass and clear the course becomes

And slow I know I must take strength to heart

A love that spans the words to make me mum

Is not self-seeking nor will fall apart

Less broken love, more spoke but is his bane?

A love without the trials to bare in vain.

I was really liking this poem up until the last 2 lines… I don’t quite understand them. Would you greatly mind explaining them, so I may understand and enjoy the whole poem? ^_^

I have experienced a loss in that I loved, but was shut out because of circumstance. Her and I have known each other for some time. We have been through many trials. When this poem was written, he was expressing his “love” quite loudly via online forums.

Therefore, the last two lines of this poem, to me, mean:

    Less broken love-
Their love is less broken than the love that remains within me for her.

    More spoke-
He expresses his love more fervently.

    But is his bane?-
Is his love the bringer of ruin, death, or destruction.

A love without the trials to bear in vain.-
They have no past to pull them down. However, there is a good chance that he will not be around after April. This is where the ‘in vane’ part comes in. She has sacrificed an important part of her daughter’s life to endulge in this guy for a few months.

Hope that made everything clear as mud :)
